Honestly, this economics twaddle can completely addle one's mind. It ought to be banned. Look at the delay it has imposed on the release of my Black Pepper frockcoat and trousers as a complete outfit. Well overdue, I concede, and my apologies are deep and almost grovelling.
The outfit includes the aforementi…

From time to time I take a tour around the shops, even if there is no rent to pay and nothing new to put on the shelves. It is a pleasure in its own right. Though actually within site of my main shop in Magellan Straits, this small formal menswear outlet on the village square of Kinvara is surprisingly well patronised - and not just by Miss Woolley's…

I'm at it again! Still opening shops in recreations of great European capital cities. Will I never learn? Where is this one? Well, if this is Monday, this must be Paris. And, as the picture graphically illustrates, here I am ensconced on the Champs Elysees, about halfway between Notre Dame and Arc de Triomphe.*
I am…

I recently made an announcement upon the SL Blog pages. Sadly, it seems that what these pages gain in official status they lack in permanence and, since that announcement was intended to be effective until further notice, it is herewith repeated:
It would be remiss of me to permit the continuation of the misapprehension that I undertake bespoke commissions. I therefore hereby state that while I am as receptive as ever to interesting suggestions regarding garments and other items, I generally ca…

I've made a fairly significant change at the main shop (
SLURL here) which means that there are now hundreds more items available from the shop.
The east wing of the building, which had remained largely empty since opening, is now full of vendors and, in additi…

The ladies of Here and Hereafter, Miss Alana Steamweaver and Miss Kitsuko Pelazzi, threw a most delightful soiree Saturday Last. Music was provided by the talented Miss Magdalena Kamenev and Miss Bamika Easterman and her Students were on hand to serve refreshments and generally make guests feel welcomed. The hospitality was surpassed only by the magnificant display of the Court Cards for the Caledon Tarot.
All four suits are represented, Canes, Cups, Gears and Swords, with a King, Queen, Knight…

The summer is still high and hot, but before you know it, the air will take on a crispness, the trees will start to turn...and suddenly Fall will be here! My Estate, The Province of Edison, is based on the North American Upper Midwest and Ontario, Canada...and we follow the seasons as those regions do in the actual world. I'll soon be changing the trees to fall colors and full of apples!
If you enjoy the seasons as we do in
The Province of Edison, and ar…

Dear Friends,
I've been so pleased to see you all join and I hope the introduction is clear enough for you to understand what we're about. If not, don't hesitate to contact me. Even if I don't know you, I'm glad you're here and I hope to get to know you and your place in SL.
I am writing now because someone contacted me earlier to ask if it was ok to post about their Victorian SL land on this ning. I want you to know that it is the purpose of this ning! I would love it if you all would post ab…

St. Columba's Church, on Giverny Square by the sea
In the utterly charming village of Giverny, Lady Soleil Snook and Lord Omicron Llewellyn have built a lovely new church. The textures are all hand-drawn and every inch of the church is unique and original. One can see the Qu…

I do not remember how we found Kam Carson, our next landlord, while searching for about a half-sim parcel, but he was (and is) as honest, cheerful and helpful as it is possible to be. He installed us on his sim "Sterling Grove" and it seemed like so much land! And so many prims! We were overjoyed, and quite undaunted by our less-than-optimal experience with the builder of the teahouse. Although he is an astute businessman, Mr. Carson's kindness is legendary, and dealing with him and Myztree Gork…

The Marzipan Teahouse was born in August of 2007 and is, therefore, two years old this month. The realisation has caused me pause, to think back on our little history ... the joys and frustrations from birth to present. I've decided to memorialise it in writing before I forget any of the components of its past, all of which have moulded its character.
Part 1.
The very talented and colourful Miss Vivenka Voom and I met in the spring of 2007. She had lost all her money gambling ((was raising a s…

I wanted to make August my holiday this year but was loath to cancel services at Saint Patrick's Church. Other than Saint Francis' Prayer, which we usually recite at the end of the service, and the age-old blessing that concludes it, I normally write the services. I decided on a compromise. For the month of August, services will continue as usual, but I am using prayers and sermons that were written in Victorian times. This seems appropriate, anyway, since we are an 1800s village. As I am not a…
